As the shade industry transitions to a mind-frame of sustainability, aluminum architectural canopies have gained popularity. We had the pleasure of installing an architectural canopy on Richard's Foodporium in Dunedin, FL. Architectural awnings or canopies provide unmatched performance in providing sun and rain protection due to their fully sealed frame. These canopies come in a variety of styles and sizes, and can be outfitted with scuppers or gutters to divert rain water run-off to the most appropriate destination. Since the canopy is made from high quality aluminum, it is virtually maintenance free and 100% recyclable. Contractors are finding these canopies helpful in meeting LEED or "Green" building requirements as they provide shade to windows and entry ways, blocking heat before it enters the structure, and lowering overall energy costs.
Richard's Foodporium in Dunedin will be having their grand opening Saturday, February 19th. So while you are enjoying natural and specialty foods, take a moment to enjoy the sun and rain protection offered by our architectural canopy.
We love solving problems for our customers. Tony and his wife in Belleair Beach were looking for a way to add privacy and protection from the sun and rain to their back patio/pool area. Tony and his wife enjoy relaxing and exercising in their pool, and they were thrilled with the extra privacy that the motorized Phantom executive screens provide. In working with Tony, we found the best solution to be a one of a kind canopy specially tailored to his needs. Here is a picture of the finished product.
The frame and posts were powder coated. The canopy was powder coated to match the fabric while the the posts were powder coated to match the current pillars on the house. We also installed a powder coated super gutter in between the two section of the awning to keep them nice and dry. The canopy has a custom cupola at the peak allowing the hot air to escape out of the top of the awning while providing protection from the sun and rain.
Tony loved his awning so much, he called us when he needed a custom solution for a handrail on a curved stone stairway on his property. He was looking for a strong and durable solution that matched the rest of his home and landscape. We had our fabricator, Pete, work his magic and pleased Tony once again.
